Screen Time is an iOS
feature that helps the user to be more productive while using their device and
minimize their unhealthy digital habits at the same time. When enabling this
feature, you will need to set a new password that is different from the lock screen
password. However, in case you have forgotten your password, this article will
give you some options on how you can remove your Screen Time password.
1. How does Screen Time work?
Apple has designed
Screen Time as part of the iOS feature to limit usage on the iOS device. This
feature monitors the amount of time you spend on your device, and more
specifically, the apps you use.
The main idea of
having a screen time feature is to help prevent smartphone and social media
addiction and help improve overall physical and mental health. If you are a
parent who is concerned about your children's online activity, Screen Time will
also give you access to the Activity Report.
To limit activity on
your device, you can set a daily or weekly range to monitor your usage. With an
iOS device, you will be able to set a detailed amount of time in an app.
When that time limit
is about to expire, you'll get a warning that you only have a few minutes left.
When the time is up, you can choose to extend, but the app will ask you to
enter your Screen Time password before you can continue.
Screen Time password
is used to protect Privacy & Content Restrictions or allow time extensions
on app limits. When you turn on Screen Time on a child's device, through
Content & Privacy Restrictions, you can prevent your children from opening
adult content from their iDevices.
2. How to Remove Screen Time
Passcode on iPhone
Since the Screen Time passcode is separate from the
lock screen lock code, it will be more difficult to manage the different
passcodes you have set; it is also possible that you forgot your Screen Time
password.
When this happens, you
may need to bypass or remove your Screen Time password. In this article, we
will discuss some options that you can try in case you have forgotten the
Screen Time passcode on your iPhone. If your iPhone is locked by Screen Time
Passcode, then you need to turn to Option 2.
Option 1: Remove Screen Time
Passcode with Apple ID
First, go to the
Settings app and navigate to the <div style="font-size:12px;
line-height:1em;">The Screen<br>Timeout</div> button. Tap
the Change screen time password
You will then be
prompted for an option. Click Change Screen Time Password or Turn Off Screen
Time Password.
You will then be
prompted to enter your Screen Time Passcode. Tap on the Forgot Password, and
now you can recover your password using your Apple ID.
Then enter your Apple
ID and password and tap OK to accept.
Now, you can remove
your Screen Time Passcode.
Option 2: Remove Screen Time
Passcode on Locked iPhone with iPhone Unlocker
If the first option
doesn't work, another easy method you can try is through iPhone Unlocker. In
case you forgot your Screen Time password and Apple ID and password, don't
worry. This third party software will help you without having to sacrifice your
existing data.

The latest iTunes must be installed on your
computer to scan your device.

The Find My iPhone/iPad app needs to be
disabled first.
● After unlocking the
Screen Time passcode, you will need to reset your device.
Step 1 Open iPhone Unlocker on your computer.
On the main interface, you will see three options: Clear Passcode, Remove Apple
ID and <div style="font-size:12px;
line-height:1em;">Screen<br>time</div>.
Choose Screen Time
Mode.
Step 2 Connect your iPhone to the computer
with a USB cable. Once your device is recognized, click on Get Started to
continue.
For iOS 16 or earlier,
a warning will appear. To prevent data loss, touch the Don't transfer apps and
data button. And to make sure that the Screen Time password is completely
removed, select the Set it up later option in the settings.
Step 3 Press OK to continue.
For iOS 16 or below, you will be able to retrieve and modify your Screen Time Passcode directly. This will take a few minutes, please wait patiently.
