We all go through times when our confidence dips, and it can be for many different reasons, however, it doesn’t mean you have to sit back and accept it. It’s completely normal for the feelings we have about ourselves to fluctuate as we’re human, so always remember that. However, something that can directly impact our confidence a lot of the time is our clothes! So we’re here to talk about the benefits of clearing out your wardrobe for your confidence
Clear Out Your Wardrobe and Feel Good!
When we put on a great outfit that we think is flattering and makes us feel good, then it can transform confidence pretty quickly. Because of this, it also goes the other way, so when we don’t have clothes that fit us properly or make us feel good, we can immediately feel bad about ourselves. Our bodies constantly change, sometimes just with age and other times different factors come into play which can make it difficult for us to dress well, but trying to wear clothes that no longer fit us properly or don’t make us feel good are going to have an impact.
So, a good way to help reduce this and to help you feel good about yourself is to clear out your wardrobe. Take everything out of your wardrobe and put it onto your bed, then start working through it. If there’s anything you know straight away you don’t like anymore or it doesn’t fit properly, put it in a pile on the floor. If you’re not sure about something, try it on with a few different things and see how you feel. Then you should also create a pile of things you’re going to keep.
With the pile on the floor, you can either donate the items, or you can try selling them on something like Depop or Vinted. You’d be surprised at what people are looking for even if it’s something quite old to you, so it’s definitely worth uploading it just in case. With the money you make, you can invest in some great pieces that make your confidence skyrocket.
This may sound simple, but when you have a great outfit to put on most mornings, you can feel completely different about yourself. Whilst we’re on the topic, make sure that you’re buying clothes that make you feel great rather than worrying about trying to squeeze into a smaller size. Feeling comfy and looking fabulous are the most important things, not a silly number on the label. We also love to focus on quality over quantity, as great quality materials can also make you feel great and provide support, as well as lasting so much longer. So, things like little black dresses, well tailored trousers and quality blazers all make a big difference.
Final Thoughts
Set aside a few hours for a great clear out and it can truly make a big difference to your confidence! Plus, you can make some money and then reinvest in some wonderful clothes for your wardrobe.
